There are very beautiful trees in that park.
Etymology
Derived from Sanskrit *पादप* (pādapa), meaning "one that drinks through its feet," a poetic description of a tree drawing water through its roots. The form evolved through Prakrit and Apabhraṃśa stages into the modern Hindi *peṛ*.
Cultural note
Trees hold deep cultural and spiritual significance in India. The *peepal* (पीपल) tree, a type of fig, is considered sacred in Hinduism and Buddhism — the Buddha is said to have attained enlightenment beneath one. Planting trees is regarded as a virtuous act (*punya*), and many villages have a central "village tree" that serves as a community gathering point. The phrase *पेड़ लगाओ, पर्यावरण बचाओ* ("Plant trees, save the environment") is a common slogan in environmental campaigns across India.
